Restrictions:

Guests must be over 5ft (152cm) in height and weigh between 7 stone (44kg) and 14 stone (90kg). We have a limited number of ponies able to carry guests over 6ft (1.80m) tall or who weigh between 12 stone (75kg) and 14 stone (90kg).
 

Clothing:

Guests are advised to dress for the season and the forecast weather conditions. Weather can be much colder on the hill than in the valley so always bring an extra layer, waterproof coats / trousers and wear sensible outdoor footwear (open toed sandals and shoes with a heel over 2” are not permitted). Riding hats up to current British safety standards are provided free of charge and must be worn at all times when trekking.

 

Arrival:

Guests should aim to arrive at least 15 minutes before the trek is due to begin, the Trek Leader has authority to cancel bookings for late arrivals without refund.
 

Health:

It is the guest(s)’ responsibility to declare any health concerns on behalf of themselves or others in their party. By accepting these terms and conditions you are assuring us that the group are free of any known medical conditions that would put themselves, or our guide, in any significant risk through participating in the trek.
 

Toilet:

There is a toilet at the trekking centre.
 

Payment:

Full payment due on booking.

 

Cancellation by you:

25% of payment will be forfeited for cancellations up to 14 days prior to the trek  date. Any cancellations or reduction in numbers made within 14 days of the trek date will result in loss of the full cost. All cancellations or reduction in group numbers should be notified as soon as possible by phone, mail, fax or email. If a guest(s) arrive less than 15 minutes before the due time of departure for the trek, we reserve the right to cancel their booking without refund.
 

Cancellations by us:

In the case of the trek being cancelled by us, the guest(s) will be reimbursed the full booking fee or given the option to reschedule. We will not be responsible for any loss, damage or expense resulting from the cancellation. A cancellation will be notified by telephone call, email, fax or letter as soon as possible after the decision has been made.
 

Emergency contact:

The emergency contact in the event of having to communicate with a guest while on the trek will be given.
 
 

Liability:

Blair Castle Estate Ltd has full public liability insurance however our insurance does not cover your group for their inherent risk or their negligence. For your own safety it is imperative that you abide by the direction of our guide throughout the trek.
 

Assignation

Individuals: the booking is personal to you and it cannot be assigned, gifted or sold.

Groups: the booking is personal to the Group Leader on behalf of the group and it cannot be assigned, gifted or sold. In the event of the Group Leader wishing to convey their role and responsibilities to another in advance of the trek they must first obtain our written consent and the written consent of the new leader.
