| The
beat is situated 8 miles up Glen Tilt with the lodge positioned
at the heart of the 25,000 acres of deer forest and heather moorland.
The River Tilt flows within a stone's throw of the lodge making
it a great base for some very good sport and providing outstanding
scenery.
Stalking starts in July with the numbers varying from 8 per week
at the beginning of the season to 20 at the end with two stalking
parties out each day. After a steep climb out of the glen the walking
becomes less strenuous and the views become spectacular. The Beinn-a-Ghlo
mountain range lies on the East side of the glen with the summit
reaching up to 1120 metres.
Mixed sporting weeks with grouse, stags and salmon fishing for parties
of up to 20 guests start in August with grouse bags starting at
about 50 brace and reducing as the season continues into September.
The fishing beat extends over 7 miles and provides in the region
of 30 salmon during an average season. There is also a very productive
wild brown trout hill loch about one hour’s walk from the
end of the landrover track for the more adventurous.
