Half-term Fun

Come along for some October half-term fun in the fabulous historic setting of Blair Castle and grounds. There are a range of indoor and outdoor activities to choose from and enjoy.

Castle Detective’s Challenge
Take part in the Castle Detectives Challenge. Using the picture clues provided, hunt down the castle treasures and work out the answers. Parents may also be allowed to join in! The activity sheet is collected in the Castle Entrance Hall and takes children around the castle room by room.

Children’s Tours
Marvel at amazing treasures and find out some fascinating facts on a Children’s Tour. Our friendly guides will help children to understand life in the castle and discover secrets and stories to make their visit special. Tours are especially suitable for children over 5 years.

Spooky Colouring In Competition
Get creative with crayons! Take part in our spooky colouring in competition then hang your pumpkin, ghost or witch from the branches of our creepy Halloween trees. The best entry will receive a prize.

Tractor Tours
Take a vintage tractor and trailer ride around the castle gardens. Rides take place every weekend throughout October. Great for children and anyone wishing to explore the surroundings at a leisurely pace. Adults £2, Children £1

Pumpkin Trail
Follow the pumpkin trail through Diana’s Grove and the castle’s woodland adventure playground. Spot all the clues then claim your treat in the Castle shop.


All activities are free and take place daily throughout October (except tractor rides). Times may vary, please check with reception on arrival.

Prices: All activities are free as part of standard castle admission (except Tractor rides).
